The Air Jordan 5 Retro 'Black Metallic' (845035-003) is the 2016 OG retro of the black colourway that debuted with the model in 1990. Released on 23 July 2016, it restored the white Nike Air branding to the heel in place of the Jumpman used on retros since the early 2000s.

The Black Metallic is one of the original Air Jordan 5 colourways from 1990, when Tinker Hatfield drew on WWII fighter planes for the silhouette. The 2016 edition was billed as an OG release, matching the original's Nike Air heel and making it a key pair for purists.
The Air Jordan 5 Black Metallic comes in the official Black/Fire Red-Metallic Silver-White colourway. A black upper sits over clear netting on the side panels and a reflective silver tongue and Fire Red accents. Shark-tooth graphics run along the midsole above a translucent outsole.
