Is the Pokémon Mega Evolution Chaos Rising Elite Trainer Box Worth It? (2026)

Is the Pokémon Mega Evolution Chaos Rising Elite Trainer Box worth it? Short answer: yes if you want the easiest all-in-one way into the Chaos Rising set — nine sealed booster packs with a shot at its Special Illustration Rare chase cards, plus every accessory you need to play. Pack-openers and sealed collectors want it for different reasons. It released on 22 May 2026 and is authenticated by hand and live at PUSHAS — the live listing shows the current price.

What you actually get

The ETB is the most complete single entry point into a new set. Each Chaos Rising box packs nine booster packs, a full-art Fennekin promo, 65 art sleeves, 40 Energy cards, a player's guide, dice and a coin, a sturdy storage box with dividers, and a Pokémon TCG Live code. For most buyers that's the appeal in one line: enough packs to feel the set, plus the kit to play and store it — without hunting down accessories separately.

The chase cards worth chasing

Chaos Rising is headlined by six Special Illustration Rares, and two cards drive most of the demand: the Mega Greninja ex gold Hyper Rare (#114) with its rain-soaked Lumiose City art, and the Mega Floette ex "Eternal Flower" SIR (#115). These are the cards openers are hoping to pull and the reason the set has display value beyond pure play. The flip side: those hits are rare by design, so any single ETB is far more likely to return commons, energy and a few solid rares than a marquee chase.

Open and play, or seal and hold?

This is the real question behind "is it worth it," and the answer depends on why you're buying.

If you want to open it: go for it. Ripping packs for the Mega Evolution chase cards is the whole fun of a fresh set, and the ETB's accessories make it the natural choice for players building Chaos Rising decks.

If you're holding it sealed: sealed boxes get harder to find once retail stock dries out. A popular middle path among collectors: buy two, open one, keep one sealed.

Who should buy it

Players get a playable Mega Evolution toolkit plus accessories; set collectors get a box made for display and a real shot at standout art; and sealed collectors get a clean, storable box to hold.
